Capable
Schwegman Industrial Sales has had over 20 years experience in the automotive components business. Our current office is located in Metro Detroit which is close to the headquarters for many large automotive suppliers and OEMS. While covering all of the greater Detroit area, we also have customers throughout the United States as well as Canada and Mexico. Our office building is equipped with a conference room, private offices and managed by the help of an administrative assistant. Our computer systems are capable of reading many CAD files that are used by our customers.
Knowledgeable
There are a number of important factors that make manufacturers’ representatives successful for the long term. It starts with having the motivation and ability to work hard while maintaining a reputation for personal integrity. Understanding the strengths of your principals in their marketplace and matching it with the needs of the customers sounds basic, but can be easily forgotten if a manufacturer’s representative does not have strong technical product knowledge along with an organized and effective method of prospecting and selling. Generally, it takes years of experience to understand and execute this concept. We find it to be beneficial to represent companies with closely related, manufacturing processes. This knowledge can allow us to help identify the best process for the application, since many customers may not be familiar with the various manufacturing options available for their product.

Although most of our current principals that we represent are North American based, we have had the opportunity to visit and build relationships with companies in China and India. We realize the need to understand the changing global economy and must have the foresight to adapt to it.
